The 2008 Annual CES Conference "Sharing Heritages"

Dear colleagues,

The 2008 Annual CES Conference will be held in Quebec City, May 11 to 14 under the theme "Sharing Heritages" (visit http://c2008.evaluationcanada.ca/ for details). It will examine the development of evaluation from past to present and spotlight visions of its future held by different nations, regions, and cultural communities from around the world.

We’re offering you the opportunity to make a contribution to building that vision by responding to a consultation of evaluators and evaluation associations and networks working on different continents. The results of the consultation will be presented during a panel discussion and analyzed and commented upon by representatives from organizations like AEA, AES, CES, IDEAS, IOCE, SEVAL, SFE, SQEP, SWEP, and UNEG/UNSSC. Other discussions may be organized according to the level of interest expressed by other evaluation associations and networks.

The consultation does not constitute a scientific study. It is simply intended to collect impressions and opinions from experts and practitioners using the attached questionnaire.

Obviously, preparations for responding to these questions are left entirely to your discretion. In order to ensure the transparency of the consultation, please describe the consultation method used (e.g., process, type and number of people consulted, and the evaluation duties of these individuals). 

If you are unable to organize a collective response to our consultation, please share the questionnaire with your members or at least with a group of experts who could send us a response directly. Individual responses will remain anonymous and will constitute a sample providing overall information. 

Please provide simple, relevant responses according to the questionnaire format in either English or French no later than April 21. Send your responses to :

Thank you for your assistance. Obviously, results will be published and an online discussion will be held. We will provide more information by the end of April.
